Employee Spotlight: Meet Michael, Residential Estimator

Meet Michael McBride

Michael McBride is Eastern Surfaces’ newest Residential Estimator who joined the team about three months ago. In his role, he estimates Kitchen & Bath Dealer quotes, residential customer quotes and, occasionally, Builder quotes. These include countertops, vanities, shower sills and bench seats, and fireplace hearths and surrounds.

What is your favorite part about working at Eastern Surfaces so far?

“I really enjoy the fast-paced environment. Quotes can typically be a little overwhelming and I get to put my mark on making the quote as simple and readable as possible but also being timely. Each quote is unique and I like the problem solving it allows me to experience.”

What’s your favorite type of and color material?

“Granite in Magma Black.”

What is something your coworkers may not know about you?

“I’m currently a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army Reserves and have been deployed to Iraq & Afghanistan during combat operations.”

What’s your favorite show to binge-watch after work?

“I usually end up watching my son run around the living room with his monster trucks.”

What advice would you give a future employee?

“To be open-minded. This is a fast-paced environment and new challenges are encountered every day. A good outlook and positive mindset are the difference between being overwhelmed and learning something new.”
